Introduction
‘Speed, Strength and Sustainability’
Our engineered building system allows a network of reinforcement steel to be held within the wall cavity. The steel is held in place by way of the patented, recycled plastic Form Bridge and is ‘locked’ inside the ‘mortarless block’ in the exact position specified by the design engineer. When the wall is filled with concrete grout, it becomes a structural concrete wall, or ‘beam’, making this block uniquely innovative. The system is protected by patent and Copyright cover.
With a lifetime in engineering and construction, George Ryder has dedicated his career to structural design, system innovation, and delivering practical solutions to complex building challenges. As the founder of FB Structural Block, George has overseen the development of a modular building system that has been used in projects ranging from humanitarian housing programs to advanced energy-saving initiatives in the Middle East.
His work spans everything from IP protection and manufacturing setup to onsite delivery and capacity-building for local teams. George has collaborated with global development organisations, contributed to large-scale infrastructure solutions, and continued to refine a system that meets both commercial and social needs.

The FB Structural Block building system may look like a standard concrete block but that’s where the similarity ends. In fact, the mortarless structural system acts more like a concrete wall and meets all relevant international structural building codes.
The system:
Can replace in-situ concrete, Pre-cast panel and concrete frame and block infill;

The FB Structural Block building system is the only mortarless system that allows engineers the freedom to nominate exactly what size reinforcement is required and where it is to be placed within the wall. Three lateral positions, and one vertical, are available within the Form Bridge to hold the network of steel. Testing has shown that the vertical steel does not need to be tied to the starter bars when positioned through the Form Bridge. Once the wall is fully core-filled the wall effectively becomes a beam.
Construction
FB Structural Block building system was used on this project in Abu Dhabi to not only act as inter-tenancy walls but also to take the total load of the floor slabs which allowed a flexible, internal design to be incorporated within these apartments.
Traditionally, achieving high Fire Ratings often requires compromises – typically manifesting as increased wall thickness due to the installation of costly fire-check plaster. However, the FB Structural Block system transforms this narrative. As an inter-tenancy wall solution, it goes beyond industry standards, offering unparalleled protection against the threat of fire.
